SUBJECT: INVITATION TO ATTEND THE PAK-THAI HALAL FOOD CONFRENCE
Agriculture constitutes the single largest sector of Pakistan’s economy accounting for almost 22 percent of GDP. With an almost 50% contribution, livestock is by far the most important sub-sector within Agriculture.
Currently the Global Halal Product Market is worth USD 3 Trillion and the Halal Food Market alone is worth USD 67 Billion. Globally and locally there is a growing demand for certified and hygienic Livestock produce. However the production of processed meat & dairy is unable to keep pace with growing demand and the shortage is valued at USD 240 million including Meat, Dairy, Poultry & Eggs.
Given the importance and potential of this sector, Punjab Board of Investment & Trade in conjunction with the Royal Thai Embassy has arranged a “Halal Food Conference” scheduled to be held on the 28th September 2011 at 90-Shahra-e- Quaid Azam, Lahore. (The detailed agenda in enclosed)
An audience of over 300 businessmen from Pakistan and Thailand are expected to attend the event. This event will provide an excellent networking platform to the businesses engaged in Halal product manufacturing (meat, dairy, gelatin, foodstuff and cosmetics etc) to generate leads and expand their businesses into Thailand and Pakistan.
