KARACHI (February 05 2010): Dairy Farmers
Association Karachi (DFAK) on Thursday
resented the price increase in animals feed
ingredients. President DFAK Haji Muhammad
Akhtar during a meeting demanded of the
Minister for Livestock to take measures for
brining out the local dairy industry from
crisis.
He resented the exorbitant increase in the
feed ingredient prices, which he said, was
out of reach for dairy farmers of the city
and pushing the industry towards a closure.
Prices of cotton seedcake reached Rs 1100
per 48 kgs, wheat bran Rs 450 per 34 kgs,
gram husk Rs 750 per 37 kg, wheat straw Rs
240 per 40 kgs, green fodder Rs 200 per 37
kgs, broken stale bread Rs 920 per 40 kgs.-PR
