LAHORE (March 03 2010): Punjab Chief
Minister, Shahbaz Sharif has said that
setting up of Danish schools in backward
areas will prove to be a precursor of
educational revolution and result in
provision of quality education at par with
Aitchison College to the deprived children.
He said that improvement of education
sector, establishment of modern educational
institutions and provision of high standard
academic facilities pave way for
development, therefore, Punjab government is
attaching top priority to the uplift of
education sector and practical measures are
being taken for the improvement of standard
of education.
He expressed these views during his visit to
under-construction buildings of Danish
School in Chishtian and government girls and
boys degree colleges in Dahranwala on
Tuesday.
The Chief Minister said that boy and girl
students will be educated in Danish schools
in two shifts. He said that a separate
component of horticulture be set up in
Danish School while services of PHA
consultant be acquired for landscaping.
District Co-ordination Officer Bahawalnagar
informed that Danish School Chishtian is
being constructed at a cost of Rs 70 crore
and will have a high standard of education.
He said that work is in progress
expeditiously on roads network, water
supply, girls and boys primary sections,
hostels and playgrounds and a sum of more
than Rs 20 crore has so far been spent. He
said that Danish School project will be
completed within next nine months. The Chief
Minister also reviewed construction work of
girls and boys primary sections of Danish
School Chishtian.
Later, the Chief Minister laid
foundation-stone of paramedic LIVESTOCK
school adjacent to Wildlife Park in
Bahawalnagar. The project spread over ten
acres of land will cost Rs 5 crore.
VETERINARY diploma classes will be arranged
for 50 students annually while 100
cultivators will be trained in farming and
100 employees of LIVESTOCK department will
be given in-service training at the school.
Besides main building, hostel for 50
students and residences for employees will
be constructed at the LIVESTOCK school. The
project will be completed in two years.
Setting up of the school will result in
promotion of LIVESTOCK in the district. The
Chief Minister, in response to the demand of
journalists, directed DCO Bahawalnagar to
provide buildings for Press Clubs in
Bahawalnagar and Chishtian.
Earlier, Shahbaz Sharif inspected
under-construction building of Government
Girls Degree College and Government Boys
Degree College in Dahranwala in Chishtian.
The Chief Minister was informed that the
construction cost of government girls degree
college is estimated at Rs 66.236 million
while Rs 27 million have been released for
the construction of the college and the work
is in progress expeditiously.
Similarly, Rs 71.73 million will be spent on
Government Boys Degree College out of which
Rs 27 million have been provided and the
project is being implemented speedily. The
Chief Minister also gave instructions for
the preparation of a scheme for Press Club
for journalists of Dahranwala.
