BUTT ISLAMABAD (July 10 2010): Higher
Education Commission (HEC) on Friday
declared educational degrees of 13 more
parliamentarians, who include federal
ministers Israrullah Zehri and Humayun Aziz
Kurd, as fake. According to reliable
sources, eight universities have returned
educational degrees of 62 parliamentarians
after thorough scrutiny. Thirteen of
these degrees have been found to be fake.
Other fake degrees-holders also include
Senators from Balochistan Nawabzada Muhammad
Akbar Magsi and Wali Muhammad Badeni; MNA
Javed Hassnain Malik from Fata, MNA Mazhar
Hayat of PML-N, MNA Wasim Afzal, MPA Punjab
Abdul Qayyum, MPA Khyber-Pakhtoonkhwa
(KP) Gulistan Khan, MPA KP Abdul Samad and
MPA Balochistan Rubina Zafar Zehri.
According to HEC officials, University of
Sindh has declared at least six degrees
"suspicious" out of 160 sent to it for
verification. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)
is leading the race with the highest number
of fake degree-holders, following by
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan
Muslim League-Q (PML-Q).
